About Thamashi Edirisinghe

I, E. A. Thamashi Madhumali Edirisinghe, course I followed “Bachelor of Technology (Hons.) in Agricultural Technology” with an academic standing "Second Class - Lower Division" from the School of Technology, Agricultural Technology in the SLTC Research University of Sri Lanka. Also, I currently work as Agriculture Extension Officer at Cargills Retail Pvt (LTD) – An agricultural extension officer directly works with farmers and companies related to agriculture. Their primary role is to aid these groups to make better decisions to increase agricultural production (From July 2024 to present). I also work at Mobilization and PUC Formation Officer at the Agriculture Modernization project in the Ministry of Agriculture (From October 2023 to 2024). I suppose the Interaction with farmer network, operating the processing center, Time management, Identification of new farmers, Maintain the audit documents, Quality production, Involve the marketing side, Guide to the farmers maintain their cultivation . I have completed my industrial trainings in the Mico Ceylon Organic (Pvt) Ltd, Embilipitiya, where I got my first exposure to the professional environment by working with the teams of Mico Ceylon Organic (Pvt) Ltd, where I was given an opportunity to good experience on Packing Supervisor, Food dehydrating, Food canning, Food packaging, High-quality, and timely delivery of products, Food quality controlling and ISO 22000 supportive document handling. And I have completed my final research in Rice Research & Development Institute, Department of Agriculture, Batalagoda, Ibbagamuwa, and conducted final year research on "Using the Multi Spectral UAV Technology to Identify the weed competition and developing, a precise Mapping system to information related with weed identification”. I was given the opportunity to conducting field - experiment and their management, labour handling. Further, I was involved in Using the Multi Spectral UAV image, creating the Map using the Pix 4D software, data gathering; mainly drone based data gathering, image analysis, data preparation and computerization of data and documentation.
